Introduction

The launch of the world’s fifth-largest underground mining project is a major milestone that demonstrates the company’s ability to work internationally, both as a company and as an engineer.

The Oyu Tolgoi underground mine, located in Khanbogd soum, Umnugovi Province, Mongolia, is located at a depth of 1,300 meters below the surface and is a 200 km long tunnel system with an average cross-section of 6×6 meters. MCS Property LLC has been cooperating with Jacobs Engineering, the world’s largest construction company, since 2016. The Critical Facilities Construction Project is an important project that will allow for the uninterrupted operation of the underground mine and the next phase of the main mine construction.

The tender process for the Underground Critical Facilities Construction Project began in November 2015. MCS Property LLC, one of Australia’s four internationally renowned companies, participated in the tender. The bidding process took place in two phases, with the final selection taking place in Chile, South America, for the Important Underground Mining Project.
